Update: Edition 1 Revision 4
In response to insightful player feedback over the past few months, we've published Revision 4 of the Edition 1 playbook for Star Carriers. Our playbook updates are organized by Edition for hardware modifications to the kit, and Revision for software improvements to the rules. Revision 4 adds several optional rules that allow players to adjust the level of risk-to-reward when trading so payload exchanges can be less nuclear.
What's new in revision 4
Revolving rate
The trade rate can instead revolve up to a maximum rate set at the start of the game, with the D6 used as a counter to count-up or count-up-and-down.
Purchasing payloads
PAYLOADS must now be purchased from the market at cost × trade rate.
Starting ships
As an alternative to the no annex rule players can choose instead to start the game with two Class I SHIPS each.
Relinquishing payloads
During exchange, the player with the lower initiative must also relinquish their PAYLOAD to the player with the higher initiative.
Collecting resources
STATIONS continue to generate RESOURCES each turn, however those RESOURCES cannot be used unless they are collected by the player's SHIP.
